Is almond milk good for acid reflux?

Usually well tolerated

Unsweetened almond milk is low in fat and acid and is usually well tolerated. It is often suggested as a swap for whole milk, although claims that it neutralises stomach acid are not proven.

Tips

  • Pick unsweetened versions and check for added chocolate or coffee flavours.

Is it a trigger for you?

Reactions vary a lot between people. Log almond milk in the symptom diary for two weeks: it shows how often each food is followed by symptoms. Then try two weeks without it and compare.
